Oh god, here comes the *f1rst!* spam...
Oh, hai.
I'm
Illithid, if you didn't read the side info. I am here for science,
science, and yet more science. Feel free to contact me if you have any
science to share.
On
this site I will be sharing some of the projects I am working on. I'm
currently situated in Vermont, so my projects will be mostly involving
the flora, fauna and geology of the area.
First Project: Cavendish Canyon (Geology)
I'm
working with a few others on many questions concerning erosion and
glacial melt in the town of Cavendish, VT. One will be determining how
water from the floods brought on by Hurricane Irene in August, 2011,
managed to erode Route 131 in a seemingly impossible manner and
direction. The second question will be attempting to rectify some wrong
info given about glacial melt and ancient weathering relating to flood
flow in previous years around and in Cavendish.
Second Project: Lady Slippers (Biology)
My
"sponsor" for the Cavendish project has also encouraged me to look into
the orchid population in Vermont. There are several questions about two
species of the flower- Showy Lady Slippers and Pink Lady Slippers. Both
are beautiful, native flowers with very odd blooming and growth habits.
I've been given almost free rein on this, but am interested in what
environmental factors effect the Lady Slippers' bloom rates, which, as
stated, are rather peculiar. Investigating this may lead into some
interesting Entomology questions, but I'd rather stick with my flowers.
Thirst Project: ??? (Psychology; Biology)
The
third project is still in the making and cannot be disclosed for fear
of preventive measures against it. It involves word association, primal
instincts and generally making fools of men. For science.
If
you have a habit of deviating from the mean and somehow have any
information on any of these, please contact me. Until next time, then.
For science!
